Overview

There are three possible ways that your process can vary from the way described in the previous pages. All of these are purely opt-in. First, read the basic information about each process below. If one of them interests you, click on the link to read the details. Then, indicate your interest in joining one of these processes by filing out the form HERE by the deadline in the chart at the bottom of this page.

Northwest Indiana Pipeline

This may be for you if:

  • You have a specific interest or passion for teaching in NWI

Your Hiring Process will be different by:

  • Your resume will only be shared with schools in NWI, and your interview process will look different. We are considering NWI-only hiring days in NWI and planning one-off in person and virtual options.

If you are interested in learning more, please see this document.

Chicago Community-Based Process

This may be for you if:

  • You grew up in or have worked / volunteered in a specific Chicago community

  • An aspect of your identity compels you to teach in a specific Chicago community

This process is NOT for you if:

  • You are qualified to teach High School English or Social Studies. Due to the difficult hiring landscape for these content areas, we do not think it is wise to limit the number of schools that you can interview with. We want to ensure that you have every opportunity to be hired before the first day of school, which means that we don’t want to constrain the options available to you.

  • You are qualified to teach Northwest Indiana Elementary. As you know, licensure laws at this time require that you teach only in Northwest Indiana.

Your Hiring Process will be different by:

  • Your process will look the same, but you will only be scheduled to interview with schools in your indicated community area.

  • You are qualified to teach Northwest Indiana Elementary. As you know, licensure laws at this time require that you teach only in Northwest Indiana.

Your Hiring Process will be different by:

  • You would interview only with schools designated by CPS; exact process TBD.

  • We hope to share a list of the schools that will be a part of this pilot when we share more information on the pilot details.
